Montana Pipeline Developer Seeks New Route Permits
Bridger Pipelines, a Wyoming-based developer, plans to construct a 647-mile pipeline ending at a terminal in southeastern Wyoming. Spokesperson Bill Salvin stated that a subsequent partner will build a following line to connect the terminal to either Cushing, Oklahoma, or the Gulf Coast. This connection would allow U.S. refineries to access the oil. The pipeline is intended to enter the United States through Phillips County, Montana. The population of Phillips County is approximately 4,000 people. Richard Dunbar, a Phillips County commissioner, stated the pipeline would become the largest local revenue source for property taxes. The project still requires additional state and federal permits. The developer aims to begin construction in the fall of 2026. One potential route for the pipeline could pass through the Fort Peck Indian Reservation.
