German Tankstellen Prices Linked to Oil Company Profits
Studies from two economic research institutes in Mannheim and Düsseldorf indicate that German oil companies are benefiting from a regulation limiting price increases at gas stations to once per day. This rule, intended for consumer benefit, has reportedly led to increased profits for corporations, particularly on premium gasoline. The initial two weeks of the regulation saw no price reductions passed on to consumers.
