Chinese Automakers Report Declining Net Income
Tech giant Alphabet reported a profit of $62.6 billion. The growth was driven by the company's cloud business and artificial intelligence sectors. This performance led the group of major tech companies including Meta, Microsoft, and Amazon in quarterly results. The company is widely known for its Google and YouTube platforms. In comparison, Meta reported revenue of 56 billion US dollars, a 33 percent increase. Meta's profits rose 60 percent to 27 billion US dollars. Despite beating expectations, Meta shares fell in after-hours trading. Driven by AI and cloud services, Amazon revenue rose to 181.5 billion US dollars and net profit increased by 77% to 30 billion US dollars for the quarter. Net income for some Chinese automotive firms has decreased significantly compared to the previous year. BYD reported a 55 percent decline in net income, while other brands saw a 27 percent drop.
