Australian Minimum Wage Increased
Low-paid workers in Australia will receive wage increases starting July 1st, amounting to 4.75% for those on the minimum wage. This increase will affect nearly three million workers. This increase is expected to affect businesses already facing rising costs and inflation. The Australian minimum wage will increase by AUD $40.00 per week, bringing the total to AUD $52,200 annually. The increase was supported by the ACTU. The Federal Work Commission has increased the minimum wage to twenty-six dollars and six dollars per hour. This decision is expected to provide relief to workers struggling with the cost of living.
