Aldi To Remove 57 Additives From Store Brands

NBC News Radio Dekalb 42d41d Impact 5
Illinois-based grocer Aldi announced it will expand its removal of artificial additives from store brands. The company plans to eliminate 57 artificial preservatives, colors, flavors, and sweeteners by the end of December next year. This follows a previous initiative where the chain removed a dozen such ingredients a decade ago. Aldi currently operates approximately 370 stores. The chain operates approximately 307 locations according to the report. The expansion aims to provide shoppers with a healthier selection of products. The upcoming expansion will increase the number of removed ingredients to 57. The change follows a shift in product composition for various store brands. The announcement was made by the Midwest-grown grocery chain. The list of removed ingredients is expected to grow to 57 by the end of December 2027.
