Poland To Sign EU SAFE Credit Concession

Radio ZET Warsaw 13d8d Impact 8

Polish authorities are expected to send SAFE loan agreements to Brussels for acceptance. The program may also co-finance the production of anti-missile systems and the modernization of roads and bridges. Poland is expected to sign the SEIF agreement with the European Union by May 8, according to Deputy Prime Minister Wladyslaw Kosinyak-Kamisz. The agreement will enable the opening of multi-billion dollar credits for the purchase of military equipment. Kosinyak-Kamisz stated that May is intended to be a month of intensive contract signing with state-owned companies. Poland will sign the SEIF agreement in Warsaw this Friday to secure low-interest loans for weaponry and infrastructure. The SEIF pool for Poland totals nearly 44 billion euros, representing approximately one-third of the entire fund.

Loan repayments are scheduled to begin in 10 years and will be distributed over nearly 45 years. European nations including Poland, the United Kingdom, Lithuania, and Estonia should expect delays in American weapons deliveries. The United States has reportedly approached its European allies with caution regarding these supplies. The country will become the first EU member state to enter such an agreement with the European Commission. Vice-Prime Minister and Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz and Minister of Finance and Economy Andrzej Domanski are scheduled to sign the document on behalf of the government.
