The reporter noted the distinction between this and standard retirement pension calculations. This measure is part of a plan to improve treatment for non-regular workers in the public sector, with plans to expand to the private sector later. The allowance is distinct from standard severance pay due to different calculation methods and regulations. The South Korean government will begin including school bullying records in university entrance exam penalty standards starting in 2026. This policy aims to address the impact of high-pressure social environments and collective silence cultures. The measure follows incidents where bullying persisted for years, such as a social media influencer who died after 12 years of harassment. The announcement was discussed during a session of the Legislative Yuan's Education and Culture Committee. The Ministry of the Interior and Safety reported that 869.7 billion won has been distributed to applicants as of midnight. Starting tomorrow, small business owners with annual sales of 3 billion won or less can use subsidies at gas stations to mitigate rising fuel costs caused by the Middle East war.
