Farmers in Hoa Hiep are generating stable income by cultivating cactus in drought-affected areas. After one year of cultivation, harvests are reaching approximately 50 to 80 tons per hectare. The selling price is reported at 2,000 per ton. Cactus farming yields approximately 50 to 80 tons per hectare with selling prices between 2,000 and 4,000 VND per kilogram. This production generates an income of 100 to 150 million VND per hectare. The model is expanding due to its suitability for sandy soil conditions and low investment and maintenance requirements. Nguyen Huu Phuc of Phu Hoa neighborhood is among the farmers utilizing this method. Farmers in Hoa Hiep have transitioned to growing cactus on previously arid and barren land. This agricultural shift provides local residents with stable income levels.
