RMF FM Poland Jastrzębie-Zdrój 13d Impact 5
The government has adopted a resolution allowing employees of Jastrzębska and Spółka Węglowa to utilize voluntary departure programs with social benefits. One-time cash severance payments are expected to begin in May. The program will be followed by mining leave. Energy Minister Mariusz Marszałek announced that a support program for miners will include one-time cash severance payments likely starting in May. The program will cover 1,056 people with severance and 103 people with other benefits, totaling 4,277 individuals supported. This employment reduction is part of efforts by the Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa company to achieve savings. The company estimated losses of over 6 billion PLN for the previous year.
