Fifteen fuel stations in the Tibú municipality within the Catatumbo region suspended operations in recent hours. Local reports indicate that public order conditions are insufficient to guarantee the safety of operations and workers. David Jiménez, spokesperson for the Somos 1 association, issued an urgent call regarding an operational strike in Tibú. The association represents 6,400 service stations. Business owners in other regions are considering similar actions due to threats, extortion, and violence against station employees. The Gremio Somos group, representing 6,400 stations, reported that some workers are refusing to work due to these security concerns. Cases of violence against women have also been noted. Service stations in Tibú suspended operations starting April 29 following threats, pressure, and extortion attempts by armed groups. The paralysis is causing economic losses and increasing concern within the productive sector of Norte de Santander. Local reports indicate the activity is directly affected by these security issues.
