Taskforce Seeks Solution For PCK Schwedt Refinery

Brandenburg Minister President Woidke stated that the PCK refinery in Schwedt has sufficient crude oil supplies secured through May. Minister President Woidke expressed confidence in the supply chain after a special task force meeting. Economic Minister Clement noted that all necessary measures are being worked on to ensure stability. This follows reports that Russia will stop directing oil via Kasstarkstan to Germany starting in May. The refinery's supply remains a key concern for regional energy security. Brandenburg State Premier Michael Stuchow stated that the PCK refinery in Schwedt is expected to receive sufficient crude oil to maintain 80 percent capacity. The refinery is currently operating slightly below full capacity. One cyclist was injured in a separate accident mentioned during the broadcast. Brandenburg Minister President Dietmar Woid stated that the PCK refinery in Schwedt can mitigate the current oil delivery stoppage using reserves. Woid said the refinery can operate at approximately 80% capacity in May to secure fuel supplies. Discussions are currently underway with Poland to transport oil via the port in Gdansk. The construction of overhead power lines is expected to lower grid fees, though costs are higher than for underground lines.
