Zimbabwe Ships First Lithium Concentrate To China

Mastodon Harare 13d11d Impact 5
The first shipment of lithium sulphate produced in Africa has departed from Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe shipped its first cargo of minerals intended for battery production on Monday. The minerals are sourced from the Arcadia mine, which is operated by a Chinese company. The mine has a production capacity of up to 50,000 tonnes of lithium sulfate per year. The material is described as extra processed. This move follows a trend of African governments seeking more value addition in their exports rather than just raw materials.
