Italian Tax Burden May Decrease Slightly

The number of employed persons in Italy saw a slight decrease of 0.1 percent in February. The inflation rate measured by the IPCA index reached 1.6 percent in March. This figure represents an acceleration compared to the previous 1.01 percent rate in 2026. The rate remains lower than the Eurozone average and was among the most contained among major European countries in March. A higher proportion of families expect price increases due to international scenario concerns. The tax burden for the average worker in Italy may see a slight decrease of 0.16 percentage points following the extension of the OSS.
