Angola Exits OPEC And OPEC Plus
Angola has decided to quit OPEC after nearly 60 years of membership. Saudi Arabia remains a primary actor in price determination within the organization. Analysts suggest the UAE intends to increase oil production capacity by utilizing the Jebel Ali port to move away from OPEC production quota constraints. The UAE is one of the group's largest producers and claims leaving will help meet growth targets. The UAE energy ministry announced that after a full assessment, the country will continue to maintain a responsible attitude while gradually increasing oil production capacity. This move is being viewed as a setback to oil exporting nations. The withdrawal involves the wider OPEC Plus Group, which is the cartel overseeing global oil production. The move allows the nation to increase production independently following shipment stalls caused by Gulf conflicts.
