A farmer in Lower Saxony, Germany, is giving away 700 tons of potatoes due to oversupply and inability to sell the harvest. Hendrik Starker from Lengrabel is distributing the potatoes over the weekend, allowing individuals to take what they need, with options for small containers to larger trailers. This represents one-third of his total harvest. Farmers in the Lüneburg district are resorting to extreme measures due to a significant potato oversupply. The president of the Farmers' Association of Lower Saxony, Holger Henges, expressed concern over these actions. While some potatoes have begun to sprout, the majority are still in good condition and edible.
