Criminals Stole 26 Million Euros From Bank Accounts Last Year

The Dutch Tax Authority (Belastingdienst) is switching its banking provider from ING to Rabobank. This transition will result in a new account number for tax payments. The change is scheduled to take effect on May 1. The broadcaster noted that the transition may make it more difficult for citizens to pay taxes. The change is expected to make the process more difficult for taxpayers to navigate initially. Most taxpayers do not need to take any action for the transition. Any funds sent to the old ING account number will be automatically redirected to the new Rabobank account for the time being. Taxpayers using automatic direct debits will transition to the new account number automatically. Individuals paying via manual bank transfers must use the new account number starting Friday. The municipality noted difficulties in addressing local nuisance issues due to protected status regulations. The report follows a recent fight involving multiple individuals.
