Romania Faces Projected 6.2% Budget Deficit
The Concordia Employers' Confederation warned that Romania faces risks to its budget deficit and country rating. In a negative scenario, credit costs could increase by up to 10%, leading to lower incomes and increased consumption pressure. The organization also noted risks regarding PNR funds, stating that in an optimistic scenario, Romania loses at least 30% of expected 2026 funds, approximately 3.5 billion euros. In a negative scenario, losses could reach 50 billion euros. Romania's public budget execution is expected to move toward a deficit of approximately 6.2%. The current budget data indicates this trajectory. The political crisis is reportedly not being viewed favorably in relation to these fiscal figures. Analysts suggest some parties may attempt to speculate or profit from the public budget construction process.
