European Lithium Extraction Progresses Slowly
Michael Schmidt of the German Agency for Natural Resources stated that lithium deposits in Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt could help Europe reduce dependence on raw material giants like China. Schmidt noted that progress in Germany is slow compared to the mentality in Scandinavia, specifically Sweden, Norway, and Finland. The goal is to process lithium directly into lithium hydroxide for use in electric vehicles globally.
