Paris Vacancy Rates Reach One Fifth Of Housing
Approximately 274,000 households in Paris are currently unoccupied, representing one-fifth of the total housing stock according to 2022 data from the National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies. This includes 137,000 vacant homes and 137,000 secondary or common-use residences. Property values for these units are reaching levels near 10,000 euros per square meter, equivalent to approximately 11,722 USD. Supply shortages for rentals are reportedly making conditions difficult for residents.
