Foreign Investment In China's Service Sector Reaches 174.6 Billion Yuan

China is implementing new measures to expand the service industry, including retail, catering, finance, IT, education, and healthcare. The service sector currently accounts for 61.4% of China's GDP. Foreign investment in services reached 545.12 billion yuan, representing over 70% of total actual foreign investment used in the country. New policies allow foreign doctors to open clinics, support foreign-funded nursing colleges, and permit multinational companies to conduct cross-border fund centralization in RMB. The government is also supporting the development of international factoring business and allowing foreign-invested travel agencies to operate outbound tourism. New measures allow foreign-funded non-profit medical and elderly care institutions to be established through donations. Additionally, the policy supports international factoring business exploration and allows multinational companies to conduct cross-border centralized fund operations in RMB. Preliminary statistics show nearly 70 companies are providing intellectual property and cybersecurity insurance in China. New energy vehicle insurance premium income in China reached 190 billion yuan in 2025, representing a 1% year-on-year increase. China's Ministry of Education is increasing the number of undergraduate majors to align with regional development needs.
