Anti-Inflammatory Drug Prices See Sharp Increase

Etemad newspaper reported that the Iranian government's limited ability to allocate subsidies for drug production and supply has led to a 30 to 300 percent increase in drug prices. The report also cited concerns about unopened import routes, raw material shortages, national currency depreciation, and depleted government foreign exchange reserves, which have worsened the economic situation, particularly for drugs. The economic situation in all economic sectors in Iran has worsened, with the drug situation being particularly affected. Prices for anti-inflammatory drugs have seen a sharp increase, with cortisone injections specifically tripling in cost.
