Manchurian Farms and Immigration Policies Discussed
Prior to the national liberation of China in 1947, large state-owned farms were established under the Baoquanling Administration in Manchuria. These farms encompassed a population, with some individual farms having over 10,000 people. The large-scale farming operations were conducted manually. The land was previously developed by the Japanese during their fourteen-year occupation, which also involved encouraging immigration to the region. Historical Manchurian farms were established by a former regime over fourteen years.
