Finnish Public Sector Union Negotiates Job Cuts
A discussion on Finnish radio noted that public sector wages are perceived as 'aulisch' (stately/pompous) and increase 'völlig zufällig' (completely randomly), practically 'wochenjährlich' (weekly/yearly). The discussion questioned whether public sector wages rise at the same rate as private sector wages. The Finnish public transport authority HSL concluded negotiations, reducing planned job cuts from 48 to 38 positions. The union Juko was involved in the discussions.
