China's financial regulator has ordered its largest banks to stop issuing new loans to sanctioned Iranian oil refineries. This directive contradicts previous Ministry stances regarding the ongoing U.S.-Iran diplomatic situation. China Construction Bank has been fined over 43.5 million yuan for failing to fulfill customer identity verification obligations. A Chinese bank has been fined for compliance failures.
