Hong Kong Minimum Wage Rises
Hong Kong has risen to the position of the world's fifth-largest economy for commodity trade according to the Global Trade Outlook and Statistics report. Specific stocks mentioned include Rongfu Fund, which fell, and Tong Shun Holdings, which also saw a decrease. The Hang Seng Index closed down 1280 points, a drop of 345 points, with a total turnover of 119.8 billion. Some individual stocks also saw price decreases, including Rongfu Fund, which fell 3.4 yuan to 26.4 yuan, and Tongshun Holdings, which dropped 7.8 yuan to 470 yuan. The Shanghai Composite Index closed at 4156 points, down 23 points. The Shenzhen Component Index closed at 15473 points, down 167 points. Pubo Mart rose 7.9 yuan to 170.1 yuan, and Zhongxing International was at 72.8 yuan. Hong Kong's economy has started the year strongly, with the tourism sector seeing a boost during the May holiday period.
