BMW to Assemble Cars from Global Market Kits in Russia
BMW has reportedly resumed assembly of X5, X6, and X7 models in Russia using kits intended for the global market. Previously, these models were not assembled locally, with the X7 reportedly only assembled in America. The vehicles are being assembled from large components purchased from China. This assembly process is said to result in a lower cost compared to purchasing a new car from abroad, due to local assembly capabilities. There is speculation about the warranty provided by the local manufacturer.
