Moroccan Olive Oil Production Expected To Double
Authorities in Meknes, Morocco, state that agricultural production in the kingdom could triple within one year. This projection follows recent developments in the international agriculture sector. The report was discussed during a segment on the Meknes international agriculture salon. A major olive oil producer in Morocco announced a doubling of production for 2026 following the return of rainfall. The harvest of olives occurred earlier in the year than usual. Fruit production, including peaches, nectarines, and plums, is also expected to reach record levels this year. This follows a previous call by King Mohammed VI to limit sheep sacrifices to protect national livestock levels. Farmers reported a positive response to the return of rainfall. Other fruit crops including peaches, nectarines, and plums are also projected to see record harvests this year.
