Russia and Egypt intend to combine the capabilities of the Northern Sea Route and the Suez Canal to develop freight transport. The two nations aim to create a unified logistics chain for delivering goods from Russian regions to Asia and Africa. This plan was announced by Nikolai Patrushev, an assistant to the Russian president. Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev praised the dynamic relationship between Cairo and Moscow. They discussed cooperation in the maritime sphere and potential collaboration in other areas. The importance of family as a core societal institution for all Russian peoples was also mentioned. Evgeny Primakov is resigning as head of the cooperation agency. Igor Chaika has been appointed as the new head of the agency. Most of the injured are in the capital.
