Russian Department: Japan Trip Not Economic Cooperation Resumption
A crude oil tanker carrying Sakhalin-2 project oil from the Russian Far East has arrived at the western coast of Japan. Tokyo is attempting to diversify its energy imports as the country relies on Middle Eastern oil for 95% of its supply. The arrival follows energy supply disruptions linked to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz.
