Beijing Authorities Warn Of Platform-Based Loan Schemes
Doctors in China are allegedly using medical insurance cards belonging to themselves and relatives to fraudulently obtain funds. Lenders use remote software to lock devices and threaten to leak personal privacy if terms are not met. Digital economy expert Liu Xingliang warns that these practices pose financial and privacy risks to young users. Authorities urge consumers to use platforms like Black Cat Complaints to report such activities. Victims are often lured through deceptive traffic-driving tactics. Expert Liu Xingliang noted that these platforms lack lending qualifications but are being used as channels to drive traffic for illegal loans. Criminals are using daily transaction scenarios on second-hand trading platforms to divert users to unauthorized lending services. These schemes involve jumping between multiple platforms to hide the collection and recovery process.
