Vietnam Customs Pilots Centralized Clearance Model
Vietnam's Customs Department of the Ministry of Finance will pilot a centralized customs clearance model in Region 3 starting June 1, 2026. The initiative aims to reform procedures, shorten clearance times, and reduce costs for businesses. Deputy Minister of Finance Nguyen Duc Chi met with the Navy Department to discuss these administrative developments. The pilot program follows directives to enhance cargo processing capacity. Implementation is scheduled to begin on June 1, 2026. This initiative is intended to decrease processing times and facilitate smoother business operations. Giang Hai Giang, Deputy General Director of GRIPTIPLINE Vietnam, noted that high-risk export orders require the highest level of inspection, including detailed document and paperwork reviews. According to the Navy agency, 30% of unnecessary business conditions have been removed.
