EU Warns US Over Trade Deal Violations
The European Commission stated on May 1st that the EU reserves all options to protect its interests if the US takes measures inconsistent with the EU-Mercosur trade agreement. The EU-Southern Common Market free trade agreement provisionally took effect on May 1st, but the European Court's ruling on its legality is still pending. The agreement will gradually eliminate over 25% of tariffs imposed by the Southern Common Market on the EU. The deal involves 89% Malbec from the 2019 harvest.
