Prosecutor Seizes RusAgra Shares Worth 1 Billion Rubles
Rusagro shares fell 3.5% on the Moscow Exchange following news regarding a fraud and abuse of power investigation. A court previously imposed precautionary measures on bank accounts and affiliated assets linked to Mashkovich in mid-April. The total value of seized property amounts to nearly 7 billion rubles. The founder of the holding company has been in custody since last year. Alexander Nektorov, managing partner at NSP law firm, noted that the chances of appealing the seizure are extremely low. The Khamovnichesky Court has ordered the seizure of nearly 470 million shares of RusAgro. The action follows an anti-corruption lawsuit filed by the Prosecutor General's Office. The seized shares belong to the businessman Mashkov. The seizure includes 24 million shares registered to the company Profit and assets belonging to RusAgra head Basov.
