US Supreme Court Limits Presidential Tariff Authority
The US Supreme Court ruled in February that President Trump cannot unilaterally impose tariffs on nearly all trading partners. Most justices concluded that the International Emergency Economic Powers Act of 1977 does not authorize the president to create tariffs independently.
