First-Time Homebuyers Acquiring Property Later In Life

France Info Paris 17d Impact 5
New studies indicate that first-time homebuyers are purchasing property at an older age, with the average age for a first acquisition now 36.5 years. This age is slightly higher than the previous average of 36. The average monthly income for these buyers is 5,000 euros, with a down payment of 56,000 euros and a loan of 220,000 euros. In the Île-de-France region, these figures are considerably higher. While couples remain the majority of buyers, single buyers under 30 are increasing. Loan durations are also extending, with 54% of credits now spread over 25 years, up from 41% five years ago.
