European Food Prices Fall Due To High Demand
Conventional milk prices are decreasing across Germany, Europe, and globally due to an oversupply. There is currently 7% to 10% more conventional milk on the market compared to last year. Susanne Glasmann from the Association of Bavarian Private Dairy Industries attributed the surplus to favorable feed conditions and a mild summer. The decline is driven by a supply surplus of 7% to 10% compared to the previous year. Factors contributing to the surplus include high-quality fodder and a cooler summer season. The market is currently experiencing increased supply alongside steady demand. These conditions include a strong fodder base and a summer that was not excessively hot. Farmers report the price drop is comparable to losing one-third of their wages. Food prices in Estonia increased by 0.4 percentage points compared to the previous month.
