BNP Paribas Fined 9 Million For Sanctions Violations
United States authorities have accused French bank BNP Paribas of violating sanctions regimes. The investigation alleges the bank cooperated with Sudan for at least five years. This cooperation occurred while the US accused Sudanese authorities of committing genocide against the population. The bank reportedly conducted deals with Cuba and Iran. In response to the situation, the bank dismissed 30 employees.
