Polish Olympians Unable To Liquid Crypto Rewards

Several Polish athletes have reported issues with their Olympic committee bonuses, which were paid in cryptocurrency. They are unable to convert these digital assets into real money. The head of the Polish Olympic Committee, Radosław Pirszewicz, stated that the committee has now advanced the funds itself. Winter Olympic medalists from the Milan games have not received their cash rewards, according to the Polish Press Agency. Polish Olympic medalists received cryptocurrency tokens instead of cash from the Zonda Crypto exchange. The exchange is reportedly insolvent and its owner has fled abroad. Prosecutors are investigating the firm, which may have affected up to 30,000 people with estimated damages of 350 million PLN. The affected athletes include winter and summer medalists from Milan, specifically Kacper Przybyła, Małgorzata Wąska, and Władysław Mirunij.
