Pinglu Canal Project Installs Water Control Gates
Construction continues on the 1,034.2 kilometer Pinglu Canal, a backbone project for China's western land-sea corridor. Control commands are issued from the central control room to ensure precision. The metal structure of the gates is equipped with an intelligent monitoring and alarm system that identifies abnormal force or operational deviations. The system utilizes hydraulic opening and closing machines to manage gates weighing between 100 and nearly 1,000 tons. Technicians conducted testing on the mechanical transmission, hydraulic supply, and electrical control systems of the Pinglu Canal project. The testing focused on the synchronization and opening/closing speed of the gates. A local control system will eventually replace manual operations to achieve automated control.
