Ibex 35 Index Experiences Technical Anomaly
A technical error regarding the measurement of the Ibex 35 index is causing market uncertainty. This error may trigger automated buying and selling by investment funds. Similar technical issues have previously occurred in the Japanese and New York financial markets. The error has contributed to ongoing market tension since late February. The decline did not correspond to the actual value of the constituent stocks or the opening of other European markets. The Ibex index began the session lower, but with a decline of less than 3%. The error resulted in confusion within the Ibex index shortly after the opening. During this period, the index showed a fluctuation of more than 5%. The report noted that this event caused concern for investors.
