Ugandan Coffee Farmers Seek Financial Aid
The association of coffee growers in Uganda is seeking financial assistance for cultivators of the Liberica species. The association aims to mitigate the difficulties currently impacting Liberica production. Association director Toni Mugoya has invited a German scientist to visit a new processing facility. The facility utilizes a machine designed to clean and prepare coffee for export. The association aims to expand the global variety of coffee offered beyond Arabica and Robusta. The association provides members with improved processing capabilities, including milling and classification, to increase export value. These investments aim to ensure more revenue remains within the country. Members also receive access to more favorable credit conditions to support production stages. Successful cultivation and processing could lead to high-quality coffee exports.
