Italy: Driver Hits Pedestrians in Modena
A driver struck approximately ten people in the Italian city of Modena before fleeing the scene and stabbing another individual. No vaccine or specific treatment is available for the injuries sustained. The driver, a 30-year-old, was taken into custody. Italian government officials described the incident as extremely serious. Authorities identified the driver who struck pedestrians as 31-year-old Salim El-Koudri, an Italian citizen known to officials for having mental disorders. The suspect, described as a man around 30 years old, has been arrested. Several people were left seriously injured after a car plowed into pedestrians in the northern Italian city of Modena. The incident took place next to the iconic cathedral of Modena, southeast of Milan. Eyewitness accounts state the driver accelerated towards pedestrians, sending people flying and pinning one woman against a shop.
