Dungeons & Dragons Accused of Glorifying Violence in 1980s Discourse
In the mid-1980s, the religious right in the USA quickly labeled Dungeons & Dragons as a game developed by Satanists. Accusations included glorifying rape, necromancy, and cannibalism, which were published in newspapers and presented by psychologists and private investigators. Similar discussions about the game's perceived commercial, fascist, and violent nature also occurred in Germany.
