UK Tourist Attractions Protest Weather App Forecasts
Operators of major UK tourist attractions have launched a campaign against current weather forecast displays on mobile applications. A Harris Poll UK survey of 1,000 people found that eight out of ten respondents feel hesitant or negative when rain is forecast. Industry representatives claim that simplified icons, such as a single rain cloud, do not accurately reflect daily patterns and result in millions of pounds in lost revenue. The campaign seeks to address how weather data is presented to consumers. This inaccuracy is reportedly costing companies millions in lost revenue.
