Man 10 Years For International Adoption Trafficking
An Iowa man has been sentenced following his arrest on child exploitation charges. The individual had allegedly attempted to flee to the other side of the world to evade prosecution. The sentencing follows legal proceedings regarding the nature of the exploitation. A man received a 12-year prison sentence for crimes involving the sexual assault of young children and the possession, production, and distribution of child pornography. The case involved offenses against children as young as 10 years old. Attorney Anthony Rizzo, representing one of the civil parties, stated that the convictions provide relief to the parents of the victims. The court also addressed cases involving children being stolen from their parents. A young woman testified she was under the constraint of her former partner, though the tribunal was not convinced by her explanations.
