Ancient Yue State Ceramic Bowl Displayed In Suzhou Museum

A honey-colored celadon ceramic bowl from the Wu and Yue kingdoms is being featured in the new Suzhou Museum building. The vessel features a trumpet-shaped mouth, a flat-boned belly, and a ring foot with holes drilled for stability. The design mimics ancient bronze ware and includes raised patterns known as 'chuji' to symbolize strength and prosperity. The object measures 26 centimeters in height and 21 centimeters in diameter. The vessel's design imitates ancient bronze weaponry, specifically the 'chuji' style, which symbolizes national strength and prosperity. The bowl features a ring foot and a smooth surface with various decorative lines. Experts note that vessels with these specific markings are rare, with only about 10 such pieces known to exist worldwide.
