Berlin Illuminated In European Flag Colors For Europe Day
Several German cities will celebrate Europe Day on May 9th with special lighting. Buildings, including the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin, and the Olympic Tower, City Hall, and Arena in Munich, are to be illuminated in the European colors of blue and yellow in the evening. Various cities across Europe are celebrating Europe Day, which commemorates May 9, 1950. Frankfurt, Bonn, Leipzig, and Freiburg will host panel discussions, stage programs, and offer food from across Europe. EU institutions in Brussels and Luxembourg were open to the public today as part of the commemorations.
