Greek Family Name Linked to Ancient Italian Dynasty
Historical records indicate the existence of a very and powerful Italian family in the Kolonaki area of Athens. The family's name, Gargareta, is believed to be the origin of a current Greek name. Ancient columns in the area, possibly on Lycabettus hill, were likely erected to ward off evil spirits or for purification.
