Shostakovich Chamber Orchestra Suite Performed
The RAI National Symphony Orchestra performed a chamber arrangement of Dimitri Shostakovich's Symphony No. 15 in A major, Op. 141, arranged by Victor Der Bianco. The performance featured the Lightpoint Abble Trio. The suite for jazz orchestra, originally composed for the 1955 film 'The First Step,' has three movements, unlike the eight movements of the suite for variety orchestra. A second waltz from the piece was notably used by Stanley Kubrick in 'Eyes Wide Shut.'
