Basque Nationalist Leader Carlos Garaikoetxea Dies
Carlos Garaikoetxea, the first Lehendakari of the Basque Country following the Franco dictatorship, has died in his birthplace of Pamplona. Garaikoetxea was the founder of the Eusko Alkartasuna party and a prominent figure in Basque nationalism and self-government.
